About Floating Energy

A New Possibility for Furniture Design

Floating Energy develops illuminated glass panels that bring decorative surfaces, adjustable lighting, and optional charging functions together in one integrated component.

We help furniture manufacturers create distinctive collections that combine visual appeal with everyday practicality. From end tables and coffee tables to nightstands and illuminated cabinet doors, our panels open new possibilities for how furniture looks and works.

Beautiful Surfaces. Integrated Functionality.

Our panels combine tempered glass, printed decorative patterns, and an integrated RGBW LED lighting system. Designs inspired by quartz, alabaster, and other stones offer the appearance of illuminated stone through a different material and construction approach.

Adjustable colors and brightness allow the furniture to suit different rooms, moods, and preferences. Control options include manual touch controls and a phone application.

Manufacturers can choose lighting alone or add wireless charging and USB connections. On horizontal surfaces, integrated charging brings another practical function to the furniture.

Panel dimensions, decorative patterns, and features can be tailored to the collection. Partners can select from our available designs or bring their own artwork for development into a customized panel.

Our experience

Built on Nearly 25 Years of Experience

Floating Energy was founded by Wesley Bober, whose work in the U.S. furniture industry spans nearly 25 years.

Throughout that time, his focus has remained consistent: developing distinctive ideas that give furniture new functionality and manufacturers new design opportunities.

His earlier work included electronically controlled humidors, automated furniture, and remote-controlled television lifts supplied to leading U.S. manufacturers such as Hooker Furniture and Ethan Allen. Later, through ICS Innovation, he developed lighting, USB charging, and wireless charging solutions for furniture manufacturers, including Ashley Furniture.

Floating Energy builds on that experience with a new approach to illuminated furniture surfaces.

The inspiration

The Idea Started with a Kitchen

The inspiration came from a personal project. While planning his own kitchen, Wesley explored the use of illuminated stone and encountered the substantial cost of both the material and the lighting installation.

That experience prompted a question: could a similar decorative effect become accessible to a broader furniture market while offering additional functionality?

The search led to Floating Energy’s layered glass-panel construction, bringing decorative patterns, light, and optional charging together.

From Design to Factory Implementation

Our illuminated panel technology is covered by a granted U.S. patent, with additional patent applications pending, including an international PCT application.

Panels have been developed, certification is underway, and production is being organized. We are now seeking manufacturing partners for initial applications and collection development.

Our support extends from panel selection and furniture design to construction and factory implementation. With support teams in Vietnam and China, and assistance available for U.S. implementation when required, we help partners integrate the panels into their production process.

Product photography and installation presentations are available to help manufacturers explore the possibilities.

What’s next

Looking Ahead

We are also commercializing a next-generation panel with a moving wireless charger that locates the phone, reducing the need to align it precisely over a fixed charging position.

This development has received a U.S. patent, with market introduction planned for the second half of 2027.

Let’s Build What Comes Next

We welcome furniture manufacturers interested in exploring illuminated glass panels for their next collection.
